Sunshine Caps Co. was founded in 2020 by Lauren, a dental hygienist.
"I had been working in Dentistry since 2010. When we were furloughed for 7 weeks during the pandemic, I suddenly found myself with a lot of free time on my hands. When I heard about the hospitals desperate need for masks, I wanted to help! I borrowed a sewing machine and taught myself how to sew.
I began sewing masks and donated them to healthcare providers. As the demand grew, I began sewing for family & friends, and selling online. I really enjoyed the idea of starting my own business, and loved creating products that brought joy to people during a stressful time.
When hygienists and medical professionals were allowed to return to work, we were covered in gowns and shields, with no way to express ourselves. This motivated me to create scrub caps with fun, vibrant designs that would spark conversation between patients and coworkers. I played with different sewing patterns, tweaked the sizing and measurements, and created custom styles to meet everyone's needs!
I genuinely enjoy creating and supplying scrub caps to medical professionals around the world.
